Education is on the move!!

The new Education ministry Monica Jimenez started to work in the new educational law (LGE). She is having some meeting with experts so this can be done soon. Also, there are talking about changing the way the financial support is working right now.

El Quisco, Chile

Do you know “el Quisco”?

I haven’t been in so many places in Chile. My family wasn’t in the mood for vacations. So, I started to enjoy it with my boyfriend. The first vacations that we had was in El Quisco.

First of all, we started the trip from Santiago and you can experiment the sensation of leaving the city and getting in the mood for holidays. Then, you can enjoy all the way getting there because you have time to see more nice beaches in the way.

This is a beach in the fifth region of Chile. One of the nicest that I have seen, especially in winter time. It is a small town where you can find anything you need: very cheap places to stay, good food, quiet places to go at nights and a quiet beach to swim.

Also, you can find some beaches were you can swim some others to practice surf or diving.

So, if you have time to get out of Santiago for a couple of days, as we are going to experience from tomorrow, I’ll recommend you this place or any other beach in Chile. Our coast is the longest and pretties in South America.

The commitments

A good book or movie that is related to music it has to be good. You may think “if you like music”…..well, yes. But not only because of this, it has to do with the opportunity to understand a new world.

The commitments were those characters that help you to understand a new world. In the book you were inside their wishes and attitudes, we understood why they wanted to be in group. Playing music for themselves and for others, taking out what you have inside and using it in a good way to tell everyone about that reality and society.

The movie showed us the same story but a new perspective. We saw a different way of building the group but with the same purpose, to show their stories. Having and keeping in our minds each of them, every characteristic and those funny situations that made us laugh more than when we read it.

We started reading how much they rehearse and the anxiety when they found out about the first gig. We watched like a smooth process starting to rehearse the songs and having as a consequence a place where they could show this to others.

We read about the affair that all girls were having with Joey the Lips and having fun every time one of the boys found out they were doing some private reunion between them. We just saw the girls fighting at the end for the same guy that it didn’t deserve it.

Finally, we were reading more and more to find out what would happen the song they want to record while in the movie the songs were changed and it was so fast how they split out that we didn’t feel the same disappointed that we felt as we read it in the book.

Enjoyining our Learning

Hello my classmates:

I want to share with you my opinion about the way I perceive the learning. I would want to have in my future students those ones who enjoy the way they learn. Making it enjoyable they will play with the language and this would create a necessity of play more and I’ll be there to help them.

Some authors talk about significant learning or pleasure while you are learning. I believe and this because as a students myself I can assure that having fun in the classes I learn and enjoy more what I do.

Today, in my school, my classmate and I decided to decorate the English lab where we are. So we started to do it by deciding to use emoticons to create all our characters. This way will help us to teach students more vocabulary, using the language in a fun way.

So, if you like this idea I encourage you to use it now or in the future to create activities and environments entertaining for our classmates or future students.

Learning English it can be fun!!

I didn’t have enough time to look out for all the topics and tips that this web page has but I can tell you that it is very helpful.
It is a very interesting web page because it’s always very useful to have some activities already designed –like the ones like cartoons- so you need to put it in practice with your students in any way they would like to change it.
Also, the grammar part has a lot of information with enough examples for explaining the way they use the language. So you can give some examples and look some more closer to the reality of your students.
In terms of Phonetics, you can also find all the sounds –being explained and audio- so they can be used inside the classroom.
Students usually feel more comfortable when they have the example and then they can do their activities, in any kind of exercises. So, this web page can help us now as students and later as future teachers.

"Do Schools Kill Creativity"

“Being creative is to have de capability to imagine and create new things”

I believe and this and I agree with Sir Ken Robinson's. We, as humans, have the creativity inside us like an experience of life. You can see this especially in children and the way the see the world would bring us much opportunities to develop our own creativity.

We are going to be teacher of this and much more kids who will wait to develop it. We can give them enough skills to make them easy this way. We have to fight against the school system that cohort this. We have to be brave and prepare ourselves to become those teachers who help other and consider other in their role of learners and teachers at the same time inside the classroom and in every aspect of their lives.

I believe in what Sir Ken Robinson's said. We can make a change, a big one.

Community Spirit

This is a piece of P. Freire inside this book that I started to read for Taller de Reflexion....and I've been enjoying so much this book finding people who believe in students and the importance of giving them some place and skills to create new things.

I just want to share that with you and invite you (when you have time) to read anything about it...because it would be great go have all the information possible for becoming the best teachers we can.

NEOPETS

The web site a like to visit it is called NEOPETS.
The first time I used it, a friend of mine gave me the link and showed me how to use it because I didn’t know anything about it and she liked it so much.
It is a web page where you can have your own pets online, taking care of them, feed them and you can earn money by playing games. It’s a good way of de-stressing yourself during the use of internet. Also to have a pet that will not die if you don’t feed them for awhile.
I use it at least one per week because I have 3 pets: Pastellito; Pattecita y Tantin. So, if I don’t have enough time to get enter and play games to earn money I leave them in the hotel. I believe my life would be the same without it but I will always remember my thee babies.
Even though they are virtual pets, do you have any pets??

If you are a fan of soccer you must know these two kings of the Manchester United. (The ones in the picture)
Yesterday, in the game against AC Roma (the team of our David Pizarro) both showed the incredible talent they have to play this sport and produce magic in the field.
The result was 2-0 in favour of the English team showing –what press has name as a crisis of the Italian soccer- the difficulties of the Italian teams to win games in their country. Roma has been working and getting into better shape than the other Italian teams in the tournament. Roma wants to keep working the same way they have done it and expecting to do a better job.
After an important work of the Roma team trying to keep the game in the way they have, Rooney came to bundle the ball and finished the second half of the game, to end it with two goals to cero and with the hope of getting closer to the championship.
